Why Me?
That’s me, Sean Becker. I am an award-winning writer and nonprofit program manager. My writing and editing career goes back to 1999, when I worked in the textbook industry. Stints as copyeditor for a national magazine and another stop in educational publishing followed. I left publishing to work in the nonprofit sector, where I served in community relations, operations, and development roles for over 10 years.
I officially left the full-time publishing world in 2004 but continued to take freelance work ever since. I was always most excited about those freelance projects, because research, writing, and editing is the work I love.
I have written over 100 magazine and newspaper articles. I have 10+ years experience writing grant proposals, direct mail appeals, website copy, social media campaigns, and other nonprofit fundraising materials. I have edited tens of thousands of pages of books and other print media.
